Minister Jiraporn Sindhuprai witnessed MoU signing between OCPB and UNCTAD

        Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office (Ms. Jiraporn Sindhuprai), together with Secretary General of the Office of the Consumer Protection Board (Mr. Ronnarong Phoolpipat), participated in The Ninth United Nations Conference to Review All Aspects of the Set of Multilaterally Agreed Equitable Principles and Rules for the Control of Restrictive Business Practices (ministerial and high-level round) The conference, organized by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), was held from 9 to 10 July 2025 in Geneva, Switzerland

          The conference reviewed the implementation progress under the United Nations Guidelines for Consumer Protection and the United Nations Set of Principles on Competition. Key agenda items included discussions on consumer protection policies at both regional and international levels, as well as emerging global challenges. These challenges included consumer protection and empowerment in the context of artificial intelligence (AI), the circular economy, global product safety measures, competition in the global food value chain, and the voluntary peer review of consumer protection laws and policies in Angola.

          On this occasion, Minister Attached to the Prime Minister’s Office (Ms. Jiraporn Sindhuprai) witnessed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Office of the Consumer Protection Board and UNCTAD. The MoU focuses on technical cooperation to jointly strengthen consumer protection mechanisms. The document was signed by Secretary General of Office of the Consumer Protection Board and Secretary-General of UNCTAD.
